Ireland's level of uninsured driving is 'problematic'.
That's according to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland, which has conducted research showing there were over 174 thousand motorists driving without insurance cover last year.

The MIBI is now calling on Government to swiftly pass the Road Traffic and Road Bill, which would allow the further roll out of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, that means Gardai can easily identify uninsured drivers by scanning their reg plates.
