Laois General Elections Candidates

Here are the representatives running in Laois for the upcoming election!

TDs (Teachtaí Dála) are elected to represent the people living in their constituency. A constituency is a defined area where voters elect a set number of TDs to serve in the Dáil.

Under the Constitution, each constituency must elect at least three TDs, with current legislation allowing for three, four, or five TDs depending on the constituency's size. In the next Dáil, there will be 43 constituencies across the country.

The General Election will take place on Friday 29 November 2024.

A general election is a vote by the people of Ireland to decide who will represent them in the Dáil (Ireland’s lower house of parliament). Ireland is a parliamentary democracy which means that the Irish public directly elect TDs to represent them.
