28% Of People In The Dublin Midlands Region Have A Medical Card

There are over 1m people in the region.

Almost 30% of people in the Dublin and Midlands health region have a medical card. 

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show around 1.1m people living in the region as of April 2022. 

The area, which covers Westmeath, Offaly and Laois, also sees 10% of the population in possession of a GP visit card.

The largest age group in the region is in the 40 - 44 year old category, which is the case across all six regions.
