One in 20 Irish Homes Using Solar Water Heating Panels

A census of homes in Ireland has found that Cavan and Monaghan have the highest proportion of homes with oil-fired central heating.

5.2% of Irish homes now have solar water heating panels.

Counties Donegal and Wexford at 1%, have the lowest use of natural gas in Ireland.

However, 35% of households in Offaly use coal, peat and wood. 

Richard Cantwell of technology company, 'Gamma' says change towards carbon-neutral homes is slow but it is happening.
