50% Of Former Midlands Prisoners Released Re-Offend Within A Year

That's the highest rate in the country according to the CSO.

Half of former prisoners in the midlands re-offended within a year of being released in 2021.

New figures from the CSO show that's the highest rate in the country.

Offences with the highest rate of re-occurence include burglary at over 60%, public order at 58% or robbery at 57%.

The latest report also shows those under-21 are more likely to re-offend within three years, at a rate of more than 80%.
