The Athlone-based Emergency Aeromedical Service Ambulance attended the scene.
Air Accident investigators are due at the scene this morning of a light aircraft crash in Co. Clare in which a man died.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash in a field near Miltown Malbay at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening.
Gardaí, Ambulance, Clare County Fire Service and the Athlone-based Emergency Aeromedical Service Ambulance all attended the scene.
The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí have sealed off the area, pending the arrival of the AAIU inspectors, who are expected to arrive early this morning.
