Bord Na Mona Recycling To Meet SIPTU Over Possible Sale

The sale of the company would mean the end of a public waste company in Ireland.

SIPTU members working at Bord Na Mona recycling are meeting tonight in Laois over a possible sale of the company.

The trade union is firmly against the sale, that would lead to the last remaining public waste company being privatised.

A meeting was held between SIPTU and Bord na Mona management last month.

The union was told a strategic review was underway in the company, while also indicating they would proceed with the sale.

This evening's meeting is set to take place in the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise.
