Tullamore group Family Carers Ireland have crunched the numbers.
Family Carers Ireland says Budget 2020 provides for less than a quarter of the homecare hours required to meet demand.
The Tullamore-based group estimates 4.4 million additional hours are needed in the sector - only 1 million were announced by Finance Minister Paschal Donohue yesterday.
Currently, there are more than 7,000 people on the waiting list for homecare in Ireland.
