Calls For Higher Incentives For The Re-Turn Scheme

The owner of a Laois garden centre also counts litter dumped near his business.

A Laois garden centre owner says a higher financial incentive like a levy should be in place for the re-turn scheme.

David Maher of SOLAS Eco Garden Centre is also a member of Portarlington Tidy Towns and carries out monthly litter counts near his business on rural roads.

His last count found there was still a significant amount of items under the scheme being illegally dumped-namely disposable coffee cups.
