A Laois Councilor wants to see property tax scrapped for over 70's.

Independent rep Ashling Moran wants the measure fast tracked by the Government as a possible last minute inclusion to the Finance Bill.

Ms Moran believes it would be an effective way to alleviate cost of living pressures on older people.

She says it's the least that can be done for them:
