
Up to 40% of survivors are excluded from the scheme
The Irish tax payer is bearing the full responsibility for crimes committed against women and babies by the Church and State.
That's the view of Mother and Baby Homes activist and the daughter of a survivor, Portlaoise's Laura Murphy, who wants to see some of the 800 million euro bill footed by the Church.
A redress scheme for survivors opens for applications today, but campaigners have spoken out about it excluding 40% of survivors from receiving compensation.
