Clubhouses Can Provide Severe Weather Refuge - St Brigid's GAA

The idea was suggested to the Taoiseach yesterday.

Power generators in GAA clubhouses across the Midlands have potential to provide refuge for future severe weather events.

That was one of the ideas that was proposed to Taoiseach Michael Martin, during his visit to St Brigid's GAA Club in Kiltoom yesterday.

The clubhouse has been operating as an emergency hub since Friday for those still without power and water after Storm Eowyn.

Currently, generators are used to power floodlights for clubs.
