
An Independent Councillor says "it's better late than never".
Construction on a long-awaited primary care centre in the midlands is due to get underway today.
The facility in Birr has been subject to a decade-long campaign to get the site up-and-running.
It will include a surgery space, treatment areas and consultation rooms, and is expected to be operational in 2026.
