Councillor Says 90% Of Travellers Want Traditional Housing

Figures show younger members of the Travelling community want to settle.

There is a cultural change happening within the travelling community. 

That's according to Offaly County Councillor, John Leahy who says, 90-95% of members from the Travelling community are looking for traditional housing rather than halting sites.  

The figures from the housing association waiting list show that younger Travellers want to settle in the community. 

Councillor Leahy says, the standard of living is what's initiating this cultural change:
