Current Bye-Laws "Not Fit For Purpose" Says Waterways Ireland

They are moving to change the bye-laws and bring in new regulations.

The bye-laws along Ireland's waterways are no longer fit for purpose, according to Waterways Ireland.

The State body are bringing in new regulations set to impact the River Shannon, the Grand and Royal Canal and the Barrow Navigation.

Some of these changes have since been removed following public consultation, such as speed limits along greenways, blueways and cycleways and three days rules at certain harbours along the Shannon Navigation.
