Daft Report Shows 5% Increase In Midlands House Prices

The average cost of a home in the region now stands at €272,000.

House prices in the midlands have risen by 5% year-on-year.

The average price of a home in the region is €272,000, according to the latest report by Daft.ie.

Westmeath house prices saw a rise of 6% year-on-year in the third quarter quarter of 2024 - the average cost of a home in the county now stands at €292,000.

While the average house in Offaly will set you back €267,000, and €257,000 in Laois.

The average price nationally stands at just under €350,000, a rise of just over 6% since this time last year.

The most expensive place to buy a home is in Dublin, where prices rose by 4.1% cent between June and September.

The report found the number of homes coming on to the second-hand market remains very weak, which is pushing up prices.

There's been a fall in the cost of a one-bed apartment in the midlands.

Daft.ie's latest report shows Laois saw the biggest decrease in the region, at 6%.

Offaly recorded a fall of 3%, while there was a 1.3% drop in Westmeath in the third quarter of the year.

The average cost of a one-bed apartment in the midlands is now around €98,000.

However, the price of a house in the region rose by 5% year-on-year, and stands at around €272,000.
