The LOETB is currently looking after 700 people doing apprenticeships.
Over 20 thousand more people signed up to learn a trade last year compared to a decade ago.
That's according to figures from Education and Training Boards Ireland, which is holding open days this week to showcase the courses they have available.
Laois Offaly ETB Manager Anne Marie Keane says they are currently looking after 700 people in the area, who are doing apprenticeships in several different sectors, including accountancy, sales and hairdressing.
