
Community and voluntary organisations are in line to benefit.
Community and voluntary organisations throughout the country will receive millions of euros in funding to assist in the fight against drugs.
Minister for State for Public Health, Wellbeing, and National Drug Strategy, Hildegarde Naughton, has made the announcement this morning.
The money will be used to maintain the current level of drug and health services provided by community and voluntary organisations, with €3.5 million being allocated.
Over €400,000 of that will benefit the CHO8 area, which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.

€445,000 euro is not enough to tackle the fight against drugs.
That's according to the Athlone Drugs Awareness Group, as funding is being allocated to CHO8, which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.
