The money comes from the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund, a €150 million investment to tackle vacancy and derelict buildings in Irish towns and cities.
Westmeath will receive €2.5 million, the highest allocation in the region, while Laois and Offaly have been granted €2 million each.
Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity and Offaly Senator Pippa Hackett, is welcoming the fund:
