Irish fast food chain Supermac's can now expand to mainland Europe after a landmark legal ruling.

The European Court of Justice has ruled in its favour in a battle with McDonald's over a trademark.

Due to existing trademarks the Irish firm couldn't operate in another European country using the 'Supermac's' brand if it wanted to.
