There's been a near 30% year-on-year increase in electric vehicle registrations in the midlands.
Research from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry has found 293 new EVs were registered in the first quarter of this year, compared to 210 this time last year.
General new car sales are also up four percent in the region, with 2,146 new registrations.
