The blaze broke out at around 8.15 this morning.

Emergency services attended the scene of a fire in Laois today.

The blaze broke out in the Heritage Hotel Golf and Spa Resort in Killenard at around 8.15am this morning.

Minor damage was caused to the Spa area, which will remain closed for the new few days, according to a representative from the Hotel.

The building was evacuated while crews from Portarlington and Monasterevin put out the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

Emergency services have since left the scene.
