Nine new classrooms and a new two-storey will come as part of the approval.
The ESB has been given the green light to expand its midlands training centre.
Laois County Council granted planning permission for the development of nine new classrooms at the facility in Portlaoise.
The five-year approval will see the construction of a new two-storey building, and the ESB says it will assist the body in achieving the Net Zero by 2040 Strategy, part of which will see it hire 1,000 people between 2022 and 2025.
Permission was granted subject to 14 conditions, and it's hoped the development can be complete by the end of next year.
