Irish beef farmers have major concerns about the deal.
An EU mission will visit Ireland in early 2025 to directly meet representatives of farming organisations concerned over the Mercosur trade deal.
It follows a meeting held between the Minister for Enterprise Peter Burke and EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic.
The deal proposes removing tariffs from more than 90 per cent of EU imports to nations in the Mercosur deal - Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
Irish farmers, particularly those in the beef industry are concerned cheap imports will become more common if the deal is passed.
