An Independent Ireland general election candidate in Longford-Westmeath believes farmers aren't being listened to.

Councillor Paul Hogan is campaigning on the national stage for the first time since narrowly missing out on a seat in the 2016 vote.

The Athlone rep has been active in campaigning against the development of an Asylum Seeker accommodation project in Lissywollen in recent months.

Mr. Hogan wants more enforcement through the Asylum application process and wants to see it made more efficient.
