Farmers Taking To The Streets In Protest Of Shannon Flooding

A large turnout is expected.

Farmers will take to the streets in the midlands this morning in a protest against flooding along the Shannon.

The campaign is being pushed by the Save Our Shannon Organisation, which is calling for one authority to manage the river.

Farmers will rally to the Banagher Bridge at 11am this morning.

It follows concerns of bales of hay and silage being lost due to flooding along the river.
