Fianna Fáil Confirms Robert Troy As Westmeath Candidate In General Election

He was confirmed at a convention last night.

Fianna Fáil has confirmed its candidate for Westmeath in the upcoming General Election.

Deputy Robert Troy will contest for a seat in the Longford/Westmeath constituency, after being announced as the party's candidate at the General Election convention last night.

Sitting Councillor, Aengus O'Rourke, withdrew his name from contention for the same seat last week.

Joe Flaherty is set to be confirmed as the party's representative in Longford in the coming weeks.

The Longford/Westmeath electoral area will be expanded from four seats to five in the upcoming General Election.
