Funding Being Sought To Establish Addiction Helpline In Laois

The local authority are making the call on the HSE and Department of Health.

Laois County Council is calling on the HSE and Health Minister to establish services for people struggling with addiction in the county.

Funding is being sought to develop an interim service, such as a helpline, for people waiting for treatment, in recovery or for their families.

It comes as an exhibition is coming up in January in the Dunamaise Arts Centre focusing on the true stories of people who have experienced addiction.
