"Further Investigation" Needed After Westmeath County Council's €515k Fraud Loss

The Housing Minister says he's actively engaging with the local authority on the matter.

The Housing Minister says further investigation is needed after Westmeath County Council was subject to a half a million euro payment fraud.

The loss of €515,000 is being internally investigated, following its discovery in February.

The payments involve a single supplier and work is underway to mitigate losses to the taxpayer.
