Government Remain Silent On Date Of General Election

Budget 2025 has led to further speculation about when the next Election will be held.

The Government is remaining tight-lipped about an Election date, after yesterday's Budget.

Tax cuts, a €2.2b cost-of-living package and record payments for health and Social Welfare were among the measures announced in Budget 2025.

It's led to further speculation of an Election on this side of Christmas, with many Government TDs believing it would be to their advantage.

However, Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil Deputy, Seán Fleming, says the date still hasn't been set:
