Grieving Families Have Option To Hold Remembrance Mass

A Laois Priest says the current restrictions are hard for families.

Coronavirus is a huge attack on the culture of the funeral process in Ireland. 

Monseignor John Byrne from the Portlaoise parish also says limiting gatherings, while necessary is particularly hard for large families across the region.

The Government is advising that small numbers of immediate family can attend funeral arrangements providing social distancing measures are observed. 

Monseignor Byrne says the church will be talking to those affected about future remembrance of loved ones:
