Hauliers Looking For Fuel Excise Reprieve

The State is set to bring forward a number of additional taxes and charges for road users.

Hauliers have written to the Minister for Finance calling for a deferral on proposed increases to fuel excise charges in August.

The Irish Road Haulage Association say this rise will undermine their viability and ability to compete in the market.

As well as re-introdicing the 3 cent excise charge, further increase are due for carbon tax in October, as well as an additional fuel charge in January.
