A review on lowering the Accommodation Recognition Payment will be signed off on in Cabinet early next week.
A Longford-Westmeath TD believes homeowners in the Midlands won't stop housing Ukranian refugees when the grant for doing so is lowered.
The Accommodation Recognition Payment pays those eligible €800 a month without tax to house Ukrainians who fled the Russia-Ukraine war.
The Justice Minister now looks set to reduce it to €600 under an ongoing review set to be signed off at Cabinet next week ahead of the monthly application deadline closing on the 31st.
