A midlands Senator is speaking as a €30m visitor centre has been proposed for a midlands bog area.
The bogs of the midlands offer huge opportunity for the local economy.
Minister Pippa Hackett is making the comments after a new €30m visitor centre proposed Ballaghurt Bog in Offaly has gone to tender.
She says Ireland's Climate House will act as an events venue and showcase the history of the bogs.
Minister Hackett is hopeful that the centre will bring more tourists to the area:
