This morning's yellow low temperature warning expires at 10am.
Motorists in the midlands are being warned to prepare for icy stretches on the roads, particularly rural routes, this morning.
Offaly, Westmeath, Longford and Connacht are currently under a Status Yellow Low Temperature and Ice Warning, which will be in place until 10am.
Met Éireann is warning of slippery underfoot and hazardous driving conditions, as well as animal welfare issues.
But, Offaly Climatologist Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says there is a break in the cold on the horizon:
