Ireland To See Loss Of Over 20% In Mackerel Fishing Quota

The issue of non-EU countries over fishing is being highlighted in Strasbourg.

Ireland is set to see a loss of more than 20% in its mackerel fishing quota next year, worth around €18m. 

A Midlands North West MEP is highlighting EU quota allocations in Strasbourg.

As a country, Ireland has 12% of the richest waters in Europe, but is only getting a 6% share of the quota.
