An Offaly TD says Ireland's deportation system needs to 'tighten up.'

157 people are seeking to have their deportation order revoked so far this year, 67 of those orders have since been quashed, by the Department of Justice.

Last year, the figure stood at just over 1,000 with over half of those appeals being accepted.

Independent TD Carol Nolan feels more staff is needed for both the International Protection Office and the airport guards.

She says the current process means those without documentation can easily overturn their order:
