Irish Wheelchair Association Underline General Election Issues

IWA point to transport, the cost of living and employment ahead of national vote.

The cost of living, access to employment and transport are three of the key issues people living with disabilities want to see discussed before the election.

The Irish Wheelchair Association is hosting a number of hustings around the country for its general election campaign, the first of which took place in Portlaoise this week.

Over 20 percent of the population is currently living with some form of disability and the IWA is encouraging all of them to vote in an election expected to be held later this month.

Coordinator of the Irish Wheelchair Resource and Outreach Centre in Laois, Sylvia Rouget  says every disability requires different needs:
