Jump In Dublin Midlands Measles Cases Since Public Health Alert

There's now seven confirmed cases in the region.

The number of measles cases in the Dublin Midlands region has increased by four.

That brings the total number of cases in the region to seven, which includes an outbreak in a house, with a national figure of 26.

There are also 17 possible cases under investigation.

It follows a Public Health Alert being issued for a number of days last month following a case of the virus in Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says they take such incidents very seriously:
