Labour Party To Hold Discussions With Parties Ahead Of Government Negotiations

A new TD has implied the party would not enter a coalition with Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

Labour says it will speak with the Social Democrats and the Green Party before entering government negotiations.

It follows remarks by new TD Marie Sherlock last night - which implied the party wouldn't go into government with Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

It looks like the two civil war parties would prefer to make up the numbers with Independents.

Westmeath Labour Councillor Denis Leonard says it would ensure policies that people want are put in place:
