
House price growth in the midlands is exceeding the national average.
House prices in the midlands have risen by 8% in the year to February.
The latest figures from the CSO show Laois is the most expensive option for a home in the region, with an average price tag of €255,000.
That's followed by €250,000 in Westmeath, and €235,000 in Offaly.
Nationally, property prices increased by just over 6% in the year to February, with first-time buyers accounting for over a third of sales.
