Laois County Council is paying mortgages for houses they won’t own.
That’s the concern of one councillor, who says the local authority is signing 25 year leases and making payments on homes that will end up being owned by approved housing bodies.
Aisling Moran says the council needs to start building its own housing and not rely on external bodies.
