Laois County Council Urged To Adopt Speed Reduction Pilot Programme

A councillor has suggested changing the colour of the tar in rural villages.

Laois County Council is being urged to adopt a new pilot programme in a bid to reduce speeding.

Independent Councillor Aisling Moran is suggesting changing the colour of tar when entering a rural village.

Ballickmoyler, Killeshin and Arles are among the areas being mooted as potential pilot locations.

A similar idea was raised by Councillor Moran five years ago, and she's once again urging the local authority to adopt the strategy, which would be operated by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
