It's the only Penneys store in the county.
A midlands Penneys has been given the green light for a major extension.
The discount clothing facility has received planning permission from the local authority to double the size of their store in Laois Shopping Centre
Lindat Limited received approval for an extension, which would see the store occupy two levels of the shopping centre, back in 2020, but development never went ahead.
The only Penneys in Laois is currently just under 1,500 square metres in size, and is expected to be expanded to almost 3,000 square metres under the new proposals.
