Laois School Will Be Unable To Enroll New Students Without More Space

It is currently operating at 19 classes, while only having capacity for 12.

A Laois special school won't be able to enroll any more students, unless additional space is provided.

St Francis School in Portlaoise has a capacity of 12 classrooms, but is currently operating at 19.

An application for two temporary rooms was refused by the Department of Education, which also told the school to reduce its numbers. 

Four more classrooms are currently going through planning, arriving 2027 at the earliest.
