Fianna Fáil's Seán Fleming says the UK based scam has seen one man charged 60 euro for two short phone calls, after he was caught-out by the bogus 1590 number.
One man had sixty euro added to his phone bill after being connected through the 1590 number.
Deputy Fleming's says the issue has been raised with the Revenue Commissioners, but people should still be on the lookout:
