Local Authorities Fail To Meet Social Housing Target For Q1

They were short by over 50 houses.

Local authorities are behind on their acquisition targets for social housing so far this year.

The aim was to have 330 homes acquired nationwide by the end of the first quarter of 2024, however the figures only reached 277.

Eight social homes have been acquired by local authorities in the midlands, with over half in Westmeath at 5.

In Laois, that figures is two and Offaly County Council have only one.
