Local Election Candidate Calls For Safer Routes To School

A Local Election Candidate in Mullingar says parents have been raising concerns.

While children need to be encouraged to walk and cycle to school, more needs to be done to provide safe routes for them to do so.

That's the view of Local Election Candidate for Mullingar, Fidelma Bennett, who says parents have been raising concerns over the welfare of their children in getting to school.

She's suggesting methods such as warnings for drivers, cycle paths and widening roads.
