Longford-Westmeath Candidate Emphasises Need To Improve Local Transport

The Independent candidate left The Green Party before declaring herself for the upcoming election.

Improving local transport links to the main city hubs around Ireland is a key component of a Longford-Westmeath general election candidate's campaign.

Louise Heavin previously served as a member of Westmeath County Council before losing her seat in this summer's local elections.

She has since left the Green Party to run as an Independent candidate.

Ms Heavin says there is room for improvement in both rural and urban transport links in Westmeath:
