Sorca Clarke says personal counselling records should never be used against people in court.
The possibility of counselling notes being read out in a courtroom, is a barrier for victims of sexual assault coming forward.
That's according to Longford Westmeath TD Sorca Clarke, who is criticising the Government for going back on a commitment to eliminate the practice.
Former Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee previously indicated she would advocate for a ban on the notes.
